Former NFL Superstar O.J. Simpson will soon be free after spending the last nine years in prison.

On July 20, 2017, Simpson went in front of a parole board to determine his fate after he was granted a 33-year sentence.

Simpson was convicted in 2008 of an armed robbery that involved sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Simpson is now 70 years old and is set to be released as early as October 1, 2017.

During the live televised parole board, Simpson was dressed in a blue jean collared button down shirt and a pair of jeans.

He pleaded his case by stating that he has completed his time in a well-respectful way. He reiterated that he never meant to cause harm to those on that one traumatic night in Las Vegas.

The hearing lasted a little over an hour where they listened to significant people such as one his daughters, Arnelle Simpson, and Bruce Fromong, one of the dealers Simpson robbed. Afterwards, a decision was made and out of four votes, all of them were a decision to release Simpson.

A 33-year sentence in my opinion was too harsh. He was given the amount of time because of his previous high-profile case involving his wife and wife’s friend.

So…….“What’s next for ‘Juice’?

His best option is to stay out of the way of the people. They are expecting him to fail even at his age. He has developed skills while in prison and they can be used to his advantage after he is released. Those skills could help prisoners that he was assisting while incarcerated.

Simpson still owes the Goldman family over $33 million. Hopefully he will get that paid as soon as possible.

However, he moved to the state of Florida to prevent his home and pension from being seized.

Some people are not happy about the release and have so much negative backlash towards Simpson. We wish him nothing but the best as he transitions back into the real world.
