RECAP: Bobby V, Silk, 112, and Jagged Edge Team Up For “Da Atlanta Show”

The stars came out for one of the hottest tickets in town Saturday night. Bobby V, Silk, 112, and Jagged Edge teamed up to bring “Da Atlanta Show” concert to the Fox Theater in Atlanta as the kick off to the Fox Soul Series.

The night was started with an introduction from the concert’s host MC Lightfoot before introducing the first performer of the night, Bobby V. Crooning through his catalog of hits, Bobby V warmed the crowd up for what was set to be an electric night.

Following the set from Bobby V, MC Lightfoot took the stage to invite special guest Karlie Redd from Vh1’s hit show Love and Hip Hop Atlanta to the stage to introduce R&B sensation Silk.

Silk took the stage to perform their hits such as “Freak Me”, “Meeting In My Bedroom” and many more. The group concluded their set with a hip hop mix, turning the audience into a dance party.

MC Lightfoot returned to the stage following Silk and took a moment to pay homage to his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi, with a stroll performance of his own to the song “Atomic Dog”.

Platinum recording R&B group 112 were next to take the stage. The group kicked their set off with an energetic rendition of their hit “It’s Over Now” before crooning through some of their biggest hits including “Cupid”, “Peaches and Cream”, “U Already Know”, and more.

The R&B quartet is gearing up to release new music in September.

“Its been 12 years since our last release,” 112 member Q Parker tells LoudGenius. “We are in the studio right now, we will have a new record out in September followed by a new album. This is some of the best music we’ve recorded and we can’t wait for the world to hear it,” said Parker.

Music powerhouse Jagged Edge took the stage following 112 to close the show. Missing their fourth member Kyle Norman, JE members Brandon Casey, Brian Casey, and Richard Wingo took the stage to bring the show home. The singers went through their hits including the classic “Let’s Get Married” before surprising the audience with special a guest, one of Cash Money’s newest artists Jacquees.

Jacquees graced the stage to perform his hit “Come Thru” before the crowd applauded for an encore. The young crooner then performed his current hit “B.E.D” as the crowd went wild.

The Fox Theater will continue their Soul Series with “A Night of Classic Soul” featuring Stephanie Mills, Peabo Bryson, and Jody Watley on August 26 in hopes to send the message that “Good Music Still Lives!”
