Jay Z Assembles Comedies Rising Stars For Moonlight ‘Friends’ Spin Off

As if 4:44 dropping summer ’17 wasn’t enough Jay Z is adding more fuel to the fire!

Jigga has assembled the whose who of Black Hollywood for his latest video  ‘Moonlight’ and it’s pretty cool.

The ‘Friends’ spin off inspired video features black actors and comedians such as Lil Rel Howery, Lakeith Stanfield and Jerrod Carmichael. Issa Rae, Tiffany Haddish, Tessa Thompson and Hannibal Buress.

With that being said, this got us wondering if Jay has something up his sleeve for a black spin off of the beloved show which spent many years on television.

‘Moonlight’ is directed by “Master of None” co-creator Alan Yang, and even features a remake of the opening to the NBC sitcom — but using the song “Friends” by Whodini.

It’s been 19 years since ‘Living Single’ went off air, when the shows final episode aired on Fox January 1, 1998. This sitcom featured six African American go getters who shared their lives and love living in a Brooklyn Brownstone. A trio of woman shared one or the apartments while the others shared an upstairs apartment.

If Jay Z decides to put his brand behind the movement in helping launch a black ‘Friends’ sitcom we are totally here for it!
