Dave Chappelle Earns First Grammy!
“You know you must be doing something right if old people like you.” A famous quote by comedian Dave Chappelle. Turns out he was right when he said that, because last night he was awarded his first Grammy for Best Comedy Album! Not only did he win an award, he also appeared on stage briefly with Kendrick Lamar during his performance on the big stage. Again he made yet another famous quote, “I just want to remind the audience that the only thing more frightening than watching a black man be honest in America, is being an honest black man in America.” Chappelle is known in many households around the world, for being a funny and straight to the point comedian. Last night when he gave his acceptance speech it was just that. He walked on stage, grabbed his award and uttered these simple words, “I am honored to win an award finally. I want to thank everyone at Netflix, Saturday Nite Live, the Chappelle Show, my wife, kids, sisters, brothers, and their kids and my mother …whew – see you on Monday!” That’s the Dave Chappelle everyone knows, and the Dave Chappelle that everyone is happy for!
