Today, (April 12) the comedy world came to stand still when shocking news broke that legendary comedian Charlie Murphy lost his battle to leukemia earlier this morning. Love and support for the Murphy family quickly poured in on social media through heart felt condolences and social media post.
According to Charlie’s manager the 57-year-old comedian had been battling with leukemia and was undergoing intense chemotherapy. The news caught many by surprise including his family, who speculated the comedian was on a road to recovery.
Known for his role in co-starring on the Chappelle Show, Murphy also was instrumental in co-writing some of Eddie Murphy’s movies, like “Norbit” and “Vampire in Brooklyn.”
Charlie leaves behind 2 children from wife Tisha Taylor Murphy who passed away in 2009, and another from a previous relationship.
